Kirk Fell-Brandreth-Grey Knotts

This walk (on the recommendation of Lakeland Walker) departed from Honister Pass, and proceeded up the old mine tramway to the foundations of the Drum House, and thence due south to eventually join up with part of Moses Trod, up to Beck Head, and thence to the summit of Kirk Fell. The return was back along the same path to Tongue Beck, then up to Brandreth, along to Grey Knotts, and then back down via the old tramway. Great views to the west in particular of Haystacks, High Stile, and Pillar, and for the middle part of the walk, of the Green and Great Gables (especially the latter). (Distance: 7.75 miles, ascent: 2800 ft.)
