This is a fell of which I never tire (see also here and here), and, because of its low height but excellent views, it was particularly suited to the conditions on this outing, which was after significant overnight snowfall, and with further flurries and strong winds on the day itself. Ascent was from Elterwater, down via Side Pike through the “squeeze”, and then back along the path on the south side of Great Langdale. Great views of the fells to the west, from Wetherlam round to the Langdale Pikes. Distance: 7 miles/11.3 km; height: 1846 ft./563m.
