This delightful short walk was from the Whitemoss NT car park (near Grasmere). The ascent is relatively steep, but the path is good, and the route gives great views of, in particular, Grasmere and its lake, Silver How and Helm Crag, as can be seen below. Return was by path that skirted fell-side above main road. (Distance: 4 miles/6.5 km., ascent: 1473 ft./449 m.). P.S. Also see Harry Griffin’s interesting article on this walk here.
