Scafell via Eskdale
This walk was undertaken in order to try to see the sights from Scafell summit that were hidden by cloud on the walk a few days earlier (see here). Ascent was once again from Brotherilkeld Farm in Eskdale, but this time up from there by the western side of the Esk via the Cowcove area, and then again to Cam Spout Crag waterfalls, Foxes Tarn Gully and the summit. Back down once again via Slight Side. The weather once again closed in, but fortunately this time not in a major way until I had reached the summit, and so some reasonable shots of the views from Symond’s Knott (the eastern part of the Scafell summit) in particular were possible. Distance: 14.9km/9.23 miles; height: 1037m/3402 ft.
