Kentmere Valley

A very pleasant ramble round the sights of Kentmere valley, starting out from Hallow Bank and then proceeding to the head of the valley, via lunch at the Ullstone.  At this point the weather changed from sort of summery to distinctly less so, thus the relative absence of photos from this section.  However, as we began the descent to Kentmere Reservoir the rain and wind gradually eased off, yielding increasingly pleasant conditions as we retraced our steps back to the starting point.  I actually typed 'pint' just now instead of 'point', which must have been a Freudian slip, because the next stop was a very enjoyable post-walk 'debriefing' held at the nearby 'Eagle and Child'.  So concluded another great day out in the company of my chief fellow-Herdwickian rambler, Jim Mercer!
