Cold Pike & Crinkle Crags

The ascent was via Oxendale (Langdale) to Red Tarn and the descent via the Band. Cold Pike, although off the main track, was included out of curiousity, and though a better day weather-wise would have helped, it neatly completes the main available perspectives in the area, especially as far as views over to Pike o’ Blisco go, and its summit - actually three mini ones, with some of the features of Crinkle Crags, but on a smaller scale - did not disappoint. Back from there to the main track and then up and down the great ‘roller-coaster’ of Crinkle Crags ‘edge’, with so many people out (holidaying in the UK because of the credit crunch?) that I had to queue at Wainwright’s ‘Bad Step’ (but watching others negotiate it while waiting helped to remind me how to also succeed!).
