High Street Round
This walk is one of those included in Paul Buttle’s “The Twelve Best Walks in the Lake District”, and deservedly so (cf. his Scafell Pike and Fairfield Horseshoe walks)! Ascent was from Harstop village, via Pasture Beck valley, up to the Threshthwaite Mouth col, on to Thornthwaite Crag, then to the summit of High Street; descent was via Angle Tarn and Boardale Hause. Views not of the best, but a great slice of the very best of Lake District fell-walking. Distance: 9 miles/14.5 km; height: 2400 ft./731m.
